Little temple trip

My family and I took a little drive to the Mount Timpanogos temple on Sunday and it is so nice that it is soo close! What a blessing! Kayla always sees the temples from the freeway so we promised to take her, and now every night in her prayers she says "thank you for Jesus' house"...so cute!

Halloween and such

We started off our Halloween weekend by going to Kayla's preschool to see their halloween program which was the cutest thing as you can imagine! Of course I forgot my camera so all I had was my iphone so the pictures are not great.

They split her preschool class into 2 so this is half of them!

On Saturday night we had a halloween gathering at our place so I just snuck out to take Kayla trick or treating. I love taking little ones around! Highlight of the weekend!

Happy Birthday!

Ok so I know that Mercedes birthday was a month ago but better late than never right? We had a little one year birthday party for her with our Utah family and as always was lots of fun! I can't believe how the time has flown by!

That actually wasn't her birthday cake but it was prettier than her sugarfree applesauce spice cake I made her! I know that I should just let her indulge on her birthday but I figure while she is young enough to not know the difference I might as well try! I got the recipe from wholesomebabyfood.com, it was a yummy cake and sugar free!! Great for the one year birthday!

She's Walking!

For some reason my iphoto is not letting me open it so there will be no pictures but I thought I would post anyway. We are still out and about in northern Alberta with Gabe's work. My girls and I just spent the last couple weeks in Calgary visiting friends and family and it was great! It made me realize how much I miss Calgary!

My girls are being very patient through this whole process. Kayla is easy to please as long as she is having fun she doesn't care where we are at and Mercedes only cares whether I am there or not. Mercedes now has a tooth and is currently working on her second one and is not enjoying it and neither am I, I hate teething. She is also walking now! She has actually been "walking" for a couple of weeks but I can now officially say that she can walk.

I was at Superstore the other day and saw a cute litle bike for cheap so I picked up for Kayla. It took me and 2 others to put it together! So annoying. But it was worth it it was like Christmas morning when she woke up and saw it!

Grande Prairie

We have been in Grande Prairie since the end of April and I wasn't sure how much I would like it but I actually really like it! I like the fact that it is a small town but the shopping is crappy though. The weather has been really nice the last couple weeks with a chilly day here and there but it has been nice. We live a cute little 3 bedroom town home which we have made our own and nothing is more that a 10 minute drive away! Gabe is having his best year yet and is enjoying the lifestyle here in GP. He starts work around 3 pm and goes till 10, it doesn't get dark until midnight here! And then the sun is up at 5.
I spend my days with my girls and with the other wives here, as well as Meaghan Purnell who lives 5 minutes away! We are having a lot of fun!

Applesauce

So I discovered a little while ago that Mercedes is not a sweet tooth, at least not right now. She hasn't liked any fruit I have given her! I had to video her having some applesauce and here it is!

Eager

So my little Mercedes or Mersillies as Kayla calls her is growing so fast!! She is 6.5 months old and is already getting into everything. She just recently has been getting onto her hands and knees and doing the rocking back and forth. She is also attempting to pull herself up which is hit and miss. She also just started to be able to keep her balance enough to hold onto furniture and hang out there for a bit, so cute.

I am so used to Mercedes hair being crazy that I forget that not all children's hair is all nuts and forget to tame it before I go out! Oh well, at least it is cute!

San Diego

Sorry to anyone that checked this post before I wrote anything! I published it to show my parents the pictures and then forgot to go back right away...opps!
So anyway we went to San Diego about 2 weeks ago for Kayla's Birthday and we had a blast! I unfortunately only took a couple pictures of Disneyland! I am not sure what I was thinking!

One of the days we went to Sea World and the seasons pass was as much a a day pass so maybe we will make it there again over the next year...or maybe not.

She very recently became very excited about princesses (and tinkerbell) so she was bombarded with Disney Princess things for her birthday!  

We went to the San Diego Zoo one of the days we were there as well and we were really lucky, it seemed that every animal was up and at it while we were there so it was fun!
