Birthday

I can't hardly believe that I am 27! For my birthday Gabe took the day off and I have wanted to go see the Statue of Liberty so we decided to head to the Staten Island ferry which passes right by it. They had other boats that went right to the statue but I just wanted to get some pictures so we just took the ferry which is actually free since it is a commuter ferry. But 80% of the people on it just got right back on on the way back so I think tourists use it more than anyone.
The Statue!

It made me so nervous because Kayla kept climbing up the railing!

We also decided to go see Hairspray on Broadway so we left Kayla with one of the wives here, Kristen. Thanks Kristen! And it was a great show! It was actually quite a bit different from the movie and had lots of extra scenes and songs so that was great!

I have been dabbling a bit with photoshop and have done a few scrapbooking pages and this is one of my favorites! Kayla just loves her daddy to bits and pieces! Gabe works late but sometimes Kayla is still up when he gets home and it just makes her day, she usually drags him into the bedroom to jump on the bed, that is her favorite place to play.
I am just amazed at how much they are alike. They are pretty much the same person. It is great because Gabe knows EXACTLY how to handle her and she listens to his every word. They are just two peas in a pod.
I am hoping that the next girl has at least a bit of me in her but I guess we will see!

It's a girl!

So we went to the 3D clinic this morning to finally find out what we are having and it is a girl! I thought for sure it was a boy and Gabe thought it was a girl, so he won. I was excited no matter what but having another girl is great! As of right now her name will be Mercedes unless something else comes up. Only 8 more weeks!

Aquarium

We went to the aquarium the other day with a couple of friends and boy was it hot out!! It was a great aquarium and Kayla loved it of course but she wouldn't get too close to the glass. So cute. I wish I would have taken my nice camera with me because we could have got some great pictures, especially of the jellyfish!

July 4th and such

Ok so I am behind once again. I only have a few weeks left here in NY so I am going to try and see everything before we are out of here! So I will need to post a lot more than I have been!

This pregnancy has been so different from Kayla it is crazy. We still don't know what we are having but we should find out at my next appt at the end of the month! I can't wait! This is me at 29 weeks. I am 31 weeks right now.

Our apartment building is right on the Hudson river so for the 4th of July I am pretty sure everyone in Long Island City was outside our place. The cops had blocked everything off so that everyone had to go through a metal detector and everything in order to get to the pier. The fireworks started around 9:30 and I noticed people gathering at the pier at around 3 or so, crazy! I wish the pictures were not so blurry!

The piers from our window
We decided to just stay in our apartment thinking that would be the best view to see the fireworks but we were wrong. The fireworks were supposed to go off right in front of the piers but I guess they changed them and they were further down the river so a lot of people couldn't see them.
A bunch of people brought out their yachts to see the fireworks!

Last weekend we decided last minute to fly to Utah and look for houses and it was the craziest weekend I have ever experienced. We returned out rental car when we got to the airport and they wanted to charge us 3200 for the month when it was supposed to cost a fraction of that so we went to the Budget counter and there was a big line and we had a plane to catch so Gabe asked if he could just quickly talk to someone about out charges and was told to wait in line like everyone else so we waited there for a bit before we just had to go catch our flight. So needless to say we waited there for 10 min for NO reason and while we were actually waiting in line a guy came in with the same problem and was helped right away!
So anyway we book it to the Delta counter and got there about 43 mins before our flight was leaving and the woman there tells us that we are too late because we need to have our bags there 45 mins before!! I was in shock! So as you can imagine Gabe tried and tried to get someone to help us out to get us on that plane but they were incredibly unhelpful! JFK is actually the worst airport on the planet.
So anyway they told us that there was nothing they could do because we got our tickets on priceline so we called priceline and they said there was nothing they could do and that Delta would have to rebook us! SO Gabe calls Delta and they tell us that we are booked on the 3:30 flight tomorrow...no idea what is going on. So we get in a taxi and head back to our apartment. The next morning Gabe phones just to double check since we still have no idea who rebooked us and they confirm that we are on that flight! So we get to the airport 3 hours early this time just to be sure!!!
So we finally get to check-in and the lady asks us who rebooked our flights and tells us that we can't just show up to the airport and hope to get on the plane!!!! I was ready to shoot someone at this point. So to make a long story short we got through will a lot of persuasion. And it was a good thing we were there 3 hours early because the whole check-in and security process took over 2 hours.
I was so happy to be in Utah by the end of it!! We pretty much had 2 days to see 35 houses which amazingly enough we did with little effort. And we put an offer on a house and I am so excited and I hope that everything goes smoothly!! I will post some pictures once we know for sure that we have it.
